Haiku Poetry Writing Contest
Teens and adults -- celebrate National Poetry Month with us and win prizes! Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry that has 17 syllables arranged into 3 lines: Line 1 - 5 syllables, Line 2 - 7 syllables, line 3 - 5 syllables. Engage your imagination and create two haiku with the themes of animals and nature, then share them with us!
- Entries can be submitted in person on the 3rd floor or via email to ref@morleylibrary.org.
- Contest runs from April 1 – April 23, 2023, and winners will be announced by May 1st. The grand prize winner receives a Japanese stationery set, and second and third prize winners will receive journals to continue your creative writing.
- All haiku entries will be displayed on the 3rd floor.
We can't wait to see and share your lyrical creations!
