CANCELLED: Repujado en Metales (Metal Embossing) In-Person
The September 10 part one of this session is cancelled due to staff illness. Parts one and two will be combined now during the part two session scheduled for September 17 at 6pm. The program may last a bit longer to finish everything. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to completing this project with attendees next week.
Join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage month with the traditional Mexican craft of repujado en metales (metal embossing)!
Metalworking has always been a prominent craft in pre-Hispanic Mexico. Often metals such as copper, tin, silver and gold were used for tool making as well as for ornamentation. With the introduction of new techniques during the colonial period, metal embossing became an artisinal craft still practiced today in various parts of Mexico.
This is the first of two sessions for this craft.
You will automatically be registered for the second session the following week on September 17.
