SUMMARY:Cell Phone Photography Presented by Steve Manchook
DESCRIPTION:Discover how to take better photos with your cell phone during
this two-hour how-to course presented by photographer Steve Manchook. This
is a basic course exploring the advantages and limitations of the popular
cell phone camera. The first half of the presentation is a primer on the
technical aspects of the cell phone. The second half deals with the
aesthetic (artistic) aspects of image making including lighting\,
 composition\, post-production software\, black and white conversions\, and
much more.\n\nBio from Steve Manchook:\n\nIn 1961\, I was introduced to the
magic of photography and the darkroom through a childhood friend. Setting
up a home B&W lab very early on\, I enjoyed photography as a hobby\, later
working on my high school newspaper\, yearbook staff and serving as
president of my high school camera club. In 1973 I attended the Naval
School of Photography in Pensacola\, Florida and spent four years in aerial
reconnaissance. After the service I spent over a decade as a part time
wedding\, portrait and commercial photographer. Somewhere in the
mid-90’s\, I caught the judging bug and began judging local photographic
competitions. In 1998\, I obtained my first home computer system complete
with a flatbed scanner and Photoshop v4.0. Learning this complex program
became a lifelong pursuit. In 2000\, I bought my first digital camera and
closed the darkroom permanently. In 2009\, a friend encouraged me to teach
photography. I am now instructing in both photography and Photoshop.
Although New England is my favorite away-from-home destination\, the
majority of my images are derived from scenes right here at home in
 northeast Ohio.
