Glimmer Journaling for Mental Health and Well-Being

Glimmer Journaling for Mental Health and Well-Being In-Person

A glimmer is a small or fleeting, positive moment hidden within daily life.  Imagine a universe where every fleeting moment holds a glimmer of magic, waiting to be discovered.

Librarian Lisa will provide individual journals and writing prompts inspired by the book Glimmers by Hayley Doyle for catching these glimmers in daily life. Dress comfortably, we will have some soft music and an environment conducive to relaxation.

Whether it’s singing kitchen karaoke while washing up, catching a fleeting whiff of your favorite scent or belly-laughing with an old friend, as we learn to recognize and cultivate these glimmers, we unlock the beneficial effects for mental health and well-being. Just noticing these moments of magic in your day can signal to your nervous system that you’re safe and can relax, increase optimism and provide a break from uncomfortable emotions.

Registration required. We will meet in the third floor activity room.

This program is open to adults and teens in grades 7 and up.
